A. andraeanum bear dark green oblong leaves to 1 feet long and 6 inches wide, with a heart shaped at the base. Spreading, heart-shaped flower bracts in shades of red, rose, pink, and white shine. The bracts reach 6 inches long, surround a yellow flower spike.

To induce flowering, the plant is best grown in moderate shade. To promote robust flowering, place Anthurium by a window that does not receive full sunlight. A well-cared for plant will bloom year-round.

Generally grown in pot even in tropical climate. Anthurium tends to thrive in high humidity. If the humidity drops below 50% for couple of consecutive days, the leaves will lose their shine and may die. These plants grow best at a temperature between 80 and 90°F/27 and 32°C, but will do fine at room temperature. Temperatures below 65°F/18°C will cause the plants to stop growing. Temperatures below 50°F/10°C will cause damage to the plants.
