Asian White Birch (Betula platyphylla) - Description
B. platyphylla japonica is native to Japan. It is fast growing, growing to heights of 40 to 50 feet tall, and about half as wide. It bears white bark and glossy green, diamond0shaped leaves that are 3 inches long.
