Lettuce (Lactuca sativa 'Oak Leaf') - Description
An ancient lettuce variety from 1880 that is still very popular. The leaves on 'Oak Leaf' are light green and slightly curled. It is very tender with a slightly tangy flavor. Try it with Corn Salad for an old time recipe. Harvest is about 50 days after planting seeds in the early spring.

Unless you are allowing the lettuce plants to set seed for seed harvesting, you should not allow the plants to flower. Blooms dense clusters of small yellow flowers.
