Siskiyou Lewisia (Lewisia cotyledon) - Description
Lewisia cotyledon is a species of flowering plant in the purslane family known by the common names Siskiyou lewisia and cliff maids. It is native to southern Oregon and northern California, where it grows in rocky subalpine mountain habitat. It is an evergreen perennial growing from a thick taproot and caudex unit.

Blooms funnel-shaped flowers in spring and summer. Flowering often occurs over long periods. Deciduous species die down after flowering.

Does best in sharply draining soil that is moderaterly fertile, humus-rich, and neutral to acidic. If growing Lewisia in an alpine house, use a mix of equal parts loam, leaf mold, and sharp sand.
