Malus (Malus toringoides) - Description
Malus toringoides is a species in the family Rosaceae. It is a wild apple tree, sometimes used as a root stock in apple breeding. It grows in mountains in China, in Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai and Sichuan. Malus toringoides is a naturally occurring hybrid species with multiple ploidy levels(Li, 2001).

Clustered five-petaled blossoms with 15-20 stamens in center. Blooms generally before leaves unfold. Pink to red buds that fade as they bloom followed by red, yellow fruits.
