Pelargonium hortorum (also called Garden Geranium, Malva or Malvón) is a species of geranium most commonly used as an ornamental plant. Pelargonium Hortorum (Pelargonium x hortorum) - Interesting facts
Plants in the genus Pelargonium are often times mistaken as members of the genus Geranium. Plants in Pelargonium do have the common name of Geranium, but from a botanical standpoint they are not true Geraniums. Pelargoniums are mostly native to South Africa, while true Geraniums are native to the Northern Hemisphere. Pelargoniums have woody bases and are all perennials, whereas true Geraniums are not all woody-based and include both annuals and perennials.
Pelargonium Hortorum (Pelargonium x hortorum) - Soil and irrigation
Requires good, fast-draining soil.
