Blue Beard (Caryopteris x 'Longwood Blue') - Description

One of the most stately perennials we've come across. Each plant produces a profusion of violet-blue flowers from mid-summer on to fall. The light and airy foliage is a smoky-green shade, the leaves are deliciously fragrant when touched. This deciduous, mound-shaped shrub is perfect for any perennial garden or border.

Blue Beard (Caryopteris x 'Longwood Blue') - Blooming

Flowers from midsummer through early fall, until temperatures dip below freezing. The blooms are blue and aromatic.

Blue Beard (Caryopteris x 'Longwood Blue') - Growth

Woody perennial that will die back to the ground in the winter, but only with freezing temperatures. The leaves and flowers are aromatic. Grow Caryopteris in a mixed or shrub border.

Greenwood cuttings are taken from shoot-tips of plants, and are harder than softwood cuttings.
