Eggplant (Solanum melongena 'Purple Blush Hybrid') - Description
These stunning vegetables are as easy to grow as peppers, but thrive in hotter weather. Days to maturity are figured from the time you set plants in the garden. Add 6 to 8 weeks to raise transplants from seed. 'Purple Blush Hybrid' should take around 62 days until it is ready for your dinner table. The 6" long, 4-1/2" wide fruits with pearly white skin blushed with lavender are just beautiful, with remarkably sweet flavor.
Eggplant (Solanum melongena 'Purple Blush Hybrid') - Growth
Does best with humidity and heat. Day time temperatures above 80°F are preferable. Night time temperatures below 70°F can decrease fruit yield. In cold climates protect young plants with floating row covers to increase the temperature directly around the plant.
Eggplant (Solanum melongena 'Purple Blush Hybrid') - Planting
Sow seeds in an area protected from the cold up to 2 months before the projected last frost of winter. Plant the seedlings in the ground 2 weeks after the threat of frost has passed. (Leaving your eggplant to grow in a container is not necessarily bad. They generally thrive in the heat that the container provides). The soil temperatures should be above 60°F. Plant in rows that are over 2' apart. Each plant should be given at least 18" of space in between individual plants in a single row.
Eggplant (Solanum melongena 'Purple Blush Hybrid') - Pest
Prone to wilts. The primary method of decreasing the incidence of disease is to rotate crops. Try not to grow eggplant in the same plot season after season. Pick off any beetles or caterpillars you see on the plant.
Eggplant (Solanum melongena 'Purple Blush Hybrid') - Interesting facts

Eggplant (Solanum melongena 'Purple Blush Hybrid') - Soil and irrigation
Does best with regular water. Provide soil that rich with organic matter and that is slightly acidic.
