Muskmelon (Cucumis melo 'Bartlett Hybrid') - Description
88 days to harvest. Don't be fooled by the appearance of Burpee's unique Bartlett Hybrid, it looks like a golden honeydew, but its firm, white flesh tastes like a cross between an apple and a pear. Each melon weighs 7-8 pounds at maturity. Melons do best when grown in clusters (hills). Sow groups of 3 or 4 seeds in hills 2' apart when soil is thoroughly warm. 30 seeds will plant 7 groups.
Muskmelon (Cucumis melo 'Bartlett Hybrid') - Planting
Plant seeds in a sunny spot one or two weeks after the last frost date.
Muskmelon (Cucumis melo 'Bartlett Hybrid') - Soil and irrigation
Keep the soil moist by watering about 1" once every week. Do not water the crown of the plant, it can damage the roots.
