C. pulcherrima is native to tropical America. It is a fast growing dense shrub, that grows to heights of 10 feet tall and wide. It bears dark green leaves with many 0.75 inch leaflets. It blooms throughout warm weather, bearing clusters of orange or red flowers with red stamens.
