C. althaeoides tenuissimus bears two kinds of foliage. It bears basal leaves that are less than one inch long, oal to arrow shaped and sometimes lobed. It also bears leaves on trailing or creeping flowering stems are divided into narrow segments. It bears pink summer flowers.

Flowers resemble those of true Morning Glories (Ipomoea tricolor). The flowers are trumpet shaped often times blue, sometimes with a yellow throat. Some species have pink flowers in the summer.
