Pelargonium hortorum (also called Garden Geranium, Malva or Malvón) is a species of geranium most commonly used as an ornamental plant. Species include the usual nursery "seed-grown" and the "cutting grown", which can easily be grown at home by cutting and planting side branches. These are stocky, large with double flowers.

Plants in Pelargonium do have the common name of Geranium, but from a botanical standpoint they are not true Geraniums. Pelargoniums are mostly native to South Africa, while true Geraniums are native to the Northern Hemisphere. Pelargoniums have woody bases and are all perennials, whereas true Geraniums are not all woody-based and include both annuals and perennials.
