Hostas (Hosta x 'Journey's End') - Description

Hosta 'Journey's End' is an impressive sport of Hosta 'Choo Choo Train' that grows to a whopping six foot wide clump. The large, yellow-gold leaves have ruffled, dark green margins with multiple shades of green jetting. Pale lavender flowers form in mid summer on this award winner! Make sure to get this Hosta some morning light (preferably filtered) to bring out its color in full glory.

This emerges from the crown or roots of a plant and is usually leafless, as it carries the flowers themselves high above the foliage. Another term you hear in reference to Hostas is a sport, which is a natural mutation of a given varietal that gives rise to another named varietal. About half of the Hostas on the market are 'sports' of older standard varieties.
