This day blooming Orchid Cactus has a stunningly large flower with purplish pink petals. The first row of petals appear in lavender. With the outer petals forming a red-orange encasement for the whole dramatic bloom! Easy to grow and loves some neglect...as this is its volatile existence in nature! Does best in a very protected environment, including in a greenhouse or as an indoor plant.

Epiphytic cacti. Grows best with partial shade and moderate to high humidity. Orchid cacti require a minimum year round temperature of 50ºF (10ºC). However, for the best cultivation, temperatures should be at least 59ºF (15ºC) in spring. Orchid cacti will die if subject to 100ºF (38ºC) or higher.In places that fall under 50ºF (10ºC), raise Epiphyllum indoors as houseplants, or in a warm greenhouse. In warmer areas, Orchid cacti work well in hanging baskets as patio plants. They are also suitable for a shaded courtyard.
