Old Man Cactus (Cephalocereus senilis) - Description
Cephalocereus senilis (Old Man Cactus) is a species of cactus native to Guanajuato and Hidalgo in eastern Mexico. It is threatened in the wild, but widespread propagation and popularity in cultivation have reduced the demand on wild populations.

Mature plants will bloom funnel-shaped flowers duriing the summer. Followed by ovoid red fruits.

Does best in poor to moderately fertile, sharply draining soil that is slightly alkaline. A mix of 3 parts standard cactus potting mix and 1 part limestone chips works fine for indoor plants. Provide moderate amounts of water during active growth. Best to keep completely dry in winter.
