Sunset Foxglove (Digitalis obscura) - Description
Digitalis obscura is a flowering plant, commonly known as the Sunset Foxglove or Willow-leaved Foxglove. It is native to regions in Spain and Africa, but can be grown as an ornamental flower around the world. It is a perennial woody plant belonging to the family Plantaginaceae. (Along with the other foxgloves it used to be placed in the figwort family, Scrophulariaceae; however, recent genetic research has moved the genus Digitalis to a larger family.)
Sunset Foxglove (Digitalis obscura) - Blooming
Flowers look like the fingertips of gloves. They come in many colors including purple, yellow, white and various pastels. Remove the first spike of flowers to promote more floral blooms.

Foxgloves grow erect anywhere from 2 to 8 ft. tall. Thrives in full sun in cooler Summer regions, otherwise should be grown in shade gardens to provide some protection to prevent overheating. In the hottest of climates, the plants will die out in late Summer.
