Tamarisk (Tamarix parviflora) - Description
Tamarix parviflora (syn. T. tetrandra) is a species of tamarisk known by the common name smallflower tamarisk. It is native to southeastern Europe but it is well-known elsewhere, such as western North America, where it is an invasive introduced species. It easily inhabits moist habitat, especially in saline soils. It is a shrub or tree growing up to about 5 meters tall.

Deciduous shrubs and small trees. Tamarix does well in full sun and will grow approx. 6-15 ft. tall. Plants in coastal regions are resistant to strong winds. Works well as a shrub border for an inland garden. In coastal sites, on sandy soils, Tamarix is a suitable windbreak.

Propagate from the seed. Sow when ripe in containers in a cold frame. Can also use hardwood cuttings in winter, or semi-ripe cuttings in summer.
