Scarlet Avens (Geum coccineum) - Description

Geum includes about 50 species of rhizomatous perennials that are native to arctic and temperate regions of Europe, North and South America, Asia, Africa and New Zealand making this genus almost cosmopolitan. Their native habitats range from meadows and streamsides to high altitude mountainous terrains.
