Use fresh or dried leaves in salads, dressings, meat, sausage, lamb dishes, beans and soups. Annual. Start early indoors or outdoors after danger of frost.

Low-growing, clump-forming plants. Grown as an annual in all places except zones 8-11, where it grows as a perennial. Encourage new growth by digging and dividing plants when they become woody, usually every few years.Marjoram is well adapted to containers and hanging baskets. Where hardy, it is possible to overwinter marjoram by covering plants with mulch. Or move to containers which can easily be brought indoors during the cold season.
