Round-Leaved Oregano (Origanum rotundifolium) - Description
Origanum rotundifolium (round-leaved oregano) is a species of flowering plant in the family Lamiaceae, native to Turkey, Armenia and Georgia. It is a small woody-based perennial or subshrub growing to 10–30 cm (4–12 in) tall by 30 cm (12 in) wide, with strongly aromatic leaves, and loose clusters of pink flowers with hop-like pale green bracts, throughout the summer.

Rhizomatous, summer-flowering, herbaceous perennials and deciduous and evergreen subshrubs. Origanum does better if it is planted in full sun. Plant height varies depending on variety. Some species can grow to approx. 3 ft. tall. Has aromatic leaves. Many Origanum species, like O. dictamnus, O. majorana, and O. onites are useful in the culinary world as herbs. Small species of Origanum work best in a rock garden, scree bed, or alpine house. Larger plants make nice additions to a herb garden or herbaceous border. Origanum attracts bees and other insects.
