Chinkerinchee (Ornithogalum thyrsoides) - Description
Ornithogalum thyrsoides is a plant species that is endemic to the Cape Province in South Africa. It is also known by the common names of chinkerinchee or chincherinchee, star-of-Bethlehem or wonder-flower.
Chinkerinchee (Ornithogalum thyrsoides) - Growth
Generally does best with full sun, but may need shade in hot weather. Tolerates partial sun.
Chinkerinchee (Ornithogalum thyrsoides) - Planting
Plant seeds in spring or fall, but provide protection from severe cold. Plant bulbs 4" deep. Repot annually each spring to maintain vigorous growth.
