Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris 'Greensleeves') - Description

A green bush bean in the same class as Blue Lake and Tenderpod. Compact, bushy plants can get 24" tall and 20" wide. Round, dark green, smooth and straight pods are 5-6" long with white seeds. Resistant to common and N.Y. 15 bean mosaic. Good for canning and freezing. Ready to harvest in 56 days.

Bush Beans do not need to be staked. Needs full sun. Beans love the heat and are frost sensitive.

Sow seeds after risk of frost (preferentially when the soil warms to 65-75°F). The seeds should be inserted 1" into the soil and 2" apart in rows 18" apart. Sowing seeds every 2 weeks throughout spring will ensure a constant harvest.
