Scarlet Sage (Salvia splendens 'Vista Red White') - Description

Salvia splendens 'Vista Red White' is another of the annual (or very tender perennial) type Salvias. Gorgeous bi-color, distinct red & white blooms dominate this short statured, upright growing beauty that won't reach over 12" in height. The unfortunate trade off of this explosive bloomer is it's lack of hardiness below zone 11-- meaning it won't do well in cooler winter zones. But for unbelievable swaths of summer and fall color, plant this Salvia generously in large groups and enjoy the show. Besides attracting droves of butterflies and hummingbirds into your garden, it will not lose it's intense color even in the hottest of heat spells.
