Styrax obassia is a species of flowering plant in the Styracaceae family. It is native to Hokkaido island of Japan and to China.

Trees and treelike shrubs. Grows best in full sun or partial shade with protection from the wind. Styrax makes a nice addition to a woodland garden. Also works well as a stand alone plant.
