Golden Trumpet Tree (Tabebuia chrysantha) - Description

The Golden Trumpet Tree naturally grows in the open savannas of tropical South America. The bright yellow, densely packed blooms arrive in spring before the leaves have developed which makes the tree look like it's glowing. The Golden Trumpet Tree works well as a standard or street tree.

Large trees and shrubs. Grow Tabebuia in a site that receives full sun. Where temperatures drop below 46-59ºF (8-15ºC), raise plants indoors in a greenhouse or conservatory. In warmer regions, Tabebuia makes nice specimen trees and the shrubby species work well in a shrub border. Tabebuia is also useful for a lawn planting and as street trees. Salt resistant species are suitable for coastal borders.
