All-America Winner. The most compact Tithonia available dazzles with intense, 2-1/2 to 3" bright orange flowers. A butterfly magnet.

Flower heads appear from summer to frost. Flowers have orange ray flowers and yellow disk flowers. Deadhead to lengthen the flowering period.

Annuals, perennials, and shrubs. Does best with full sun. Tolerates high heat. If young plants are subjected to bouts of cold, the leaves may turn yellow. Tithonia does not grow well during cool, overcast weather conditions. T. rotundifolia is the most cultivated species. Works well in a mixed or annual border. Flowers are suitable for cuttings as they are long-lasting.

Sow seeds in mid to late spring between 55 and 65°F (18°C). Plant out after the threat of frost is no more. Can sow seeds directly into the ground in late spring. If seedlings are exposed to severe cold, the leaves will turn yellow.
