Tradescantia (Tradescantia sillamontana) - Description

Tradescantia sillamontana is a perennial evergreen herbaceous plant of the genus Tradescantia. This species is one of the most succulent and xerophytic, but at the same time one of the most ornamental and exotic species of Tradescantia. Its habitat is dry areas of northern Mexico.

Although most members of this genus are grown for their colorful foliage, some do have blue or pink flowers. The flowers are short-lived. Lengthen flowering by cutting back flowered stems.

Evergreen perennials. Known for being nearly indestructible plants. They grow with trailing stems and do well as potted plants but suffices as a ground cover in climates that permit it.
