A vibrantly red colored Greigii, this unique tulip variety has a beautiful tapered form, and lovely maroon streaked foliage. Red Riding Hood is very popular, as it helps to blend your garden with its petite stature and brilliant color. Ht.6-8". Spacing 6-12". Sun-Part Shade. Blooms Apr-May. Zones 3-8.

Many would readily associate tulips with Holland; however, these flowers are not native to Northern Europe at all. Tulips were originally from Turkey, Afghanistan and Iran. They are found in the mountainous regions of those countries, which explains why they need a cold period during winter in order flower properly. Plant parts can irritate the skin upon contact.
