Needle Palm (Yucca flaccida) - Description
Yucca flaccida syn. Y. filamentosa var. flaccida (common name needle palm) is a species of flowering plant in the family Asparagaceae, native to the USA, from Northern Carolina to Alabama. Growing to 55 cm (22 in) tall by 150 cm (59 in) broad, it is a stemless evergreen shrub with a basal rosette of sharply pointed, swordlike leaves up to 55 cm (22 in) long.

Rosette-forming or woody based perennials, evergreen shrubs and trees. Yuccas do well in full sun. Height varies depending on variety. Some species will grow to 30 ft. in height. Works best as an ornamental plant for a courtyard or border. Also works as a container plant. Less hardy, tender Yuccas, should be grown in a cool or temperate greenhouse or conservatory.
