Mustard (Brassica x 'Osaka Purple') - Description
HEIRLOOM. A beautiful and delicious vegetable, the crinkled green leaves (like Savoy cabbage), tinged bright wine-red deepen to purple in cooler weather. The young thinnings are tender and succulent, excellent in salad and mesclun where they add a sharp mustard zing. Ultimately they become over a foot tall, and make an excellent cooked green. In the saute pan, the color fades to green and the mustard bite mellows, Hot sauce and hot pepper fans will love thin one!
