Calliopsis (Coreopsis x 'Limerock Ruby') - Description
Shimmering, dusky red flowers glow like jewels above graceful, airy foliage that stays erect and never needs staking. The plants quickly form large masses, so it's great for the front of borders or rock gardens. A light shearing in mid-summer encourages flowering into early fall. Few perennials blooms so luxuriantly. Excellent vigor too. A single plant will spread to 3' in just two summers. Blossoms are 2" across, ruby red with deep yellow centers.

Flower colors vary in this genus but include yellow, orange, maroon and red. Coreopsis produces daisy-like flowerheads that attract bees. Deadhead to lengthen flowering period.
