Golden Barrel Cactus (Echinocactus grusonii) - Description

E. grusonii is a slow growing Mexican cactus. It bears showy, stiff, yellow 3 inch spines with yellow flowers on top of the plant during the summer. It should be watered every couple of weeks during the summer.

In summer, yellow, pink, red, or magenta bell-shaped flowers are borne atop mature cacti. Followed by fruits with large black or brown seeds.
