Common Sunflower (Helianthus annuus 'Fun 'n Sun Hybrid Mix') - Description
Hybrid Sunflower Mix. Burpee's designer blend of 10 varieties will show you why everybody's so excited about sunflowers. You get singles and fluffy doubles. Some blooms are a hefty 8", some only 3". There are wine reds, rich golds, soft yellows, white chiffon and bicolors, too. They'll last 7 days in vase. All are pollen-free and won't shed on tabletops. Plants are only 4-6' tall. Abundant blooms for well over two months! Burpee Exclusive mix will attract butterflies and birds by the droves as well!

Grow in sunny, open areas. Plant in drifts at the back corners and along fences. You should make sure tall varieties are sheltered from the wind or they may even need staking. They will tolerate heat, but frost will kill them.

Grow in average to fertile, well-drained neutral to slightly alkaline soil. For best growth, keep moist, as sunflowers are thirsty plants. They can survive drought.
