Early-blooming scarlet, single to semi-double flowers; color softens toward orange as they mature. Thrives in full sun, tolerates summer heat; rarely bothered by insects or diseases. Excellent for beds, containers and cuttings. Nice in bouquets. Height 2 feet. GARDEN HINTS: For earlier bloom, sow seeds indoors about 8 weeks before outdoor planting time. Before transfer to garden, accustom seedlings to outdoor conditions by moving to a sheltered place outside for a week.
