Sage (Salvia x 'Red Hot Mama') - Description

Turn on the color! One of Burpee's tallest Salvias, the brilliant red spikes tower prolifically over vigorous, densely branched plants. Perfect for a hedge, screen or container. Use this as an annual for the most part to fill in big spaces with dramatic swaths of color that will be appreciated by both humans, butterflies, and hummingbirds alike.

Flowers are 2-lipped and range in color from white, yellow, salmon, pink, red and scarlet. For continued blooming, deadhead flowers.

Most every sage plant thrives in full sun. Provide low to moderate humidity. Keep the soil around the roots cool. For continual harvest through winter, remove sage from the ground in late fall and pot up in containers.
