Early Tulip (Tulipa x 'Apricot Beauty') - Description

Dependably perennial (which means it'll come up each spring for many years!) and lightly fragrant! This exquisite all-time favorite is an early bloomer with light rosy apricot petals suffused with pink. Plant them with grape hyacinths for a perfect spring picture. Excellent for forcing. Zones 3-8.

Tulips will bloom in March-May and come in many different colors. Generally, the bulbs require some cooling period in order to produce flowers. This cooling period usually lasts 8 to 10 weeks. The temperature should be in the low 40s to promote the best flower induction.

Early Tulip (Tulipa x 'Apricot Beauty') - Interesting facts

Many would readily associate tulips with Holland; however, these flowers are not native to Northern Europe at all. Tulips were originally from Turkey, Afghanistan and Iran. They are found in the mountainous regions of those countries, which explains why they need a cold period during winter in order flower properly. Plant parts can irritate the skin upon contact.

Early Tulip (Tulipa x 'Apricot Beauty') - Soil and irrigation

Tulips do well with rich, sandy soil but will tolerate being planted in any good soil as long as it has fast drainage. They also require regular watering during growth and while flowering.
