Tamarix ramosissima, commonly known as Saltcedar, is a deciduous arching shrub with reddish stems and feathery, pale green foliage.

Deciduous shrubs and small trees. Tamarix does well in full sun and will grow approx. 6-15 ft. tall. Plants in coastal regions are resistant to strong winds. Works well as a shrub border for an inland garden. In coastal sites, on sandy soils, Tamarix is a suitable windbreak.

Propagate from the seed. Sow when ripe in containers in a cold frame. Can also use hardwood cuttings in winter, or semi-ripe cuttings in summer.
