The different types of alliances
Before you embark on creating the perfect wedding ring for a couple, it is important to know that there are several styles of wedding rings. They can be classic or fancy.
Classic wedding rings
These alliances come in many forms. They can be of rush, half-rush or ribbon. The bangle is a simple, completely round ring. The half ring is also a ring, but it is rounded on the outside and flat on the inside. The last classic form of wedding ring is the ribbon. This alliance is a rather particular ring. Indeed, its outer face is flat, its outer face is rounded and the edges of the ring are straight.
The fanciful alliances
On the one hand, this concerns alliances exclusively in metal such as intertwined rings, chiseled or brushed wedding rings, etc. On the other hand, alliances set with precious stones such as diamonds or semi-precious stones.
The materials that can be used for an alliance
Many materials are used for wedding rings. There are in particular:
- platinum,
- gold,
- palladium,
- titanium,
- money and many more.
These materials each have their advantages and disadvantages, but the most widely used are gold, platinum, and silver.
Making a wedding ring
To make a wedding ring for the bride and groom, you will first need to start by melting gold or platinum. To do this, the metal will need to be brought to its melting point. Then, the molten gold will be poured into a mold which will give the precious metal the elongated shape. Then the product obtained will be cooled in water.
The part taken out of the water is then placed in a rolling mill. It will be refined there until it reaches the thickness desired by the bride and groom. After these operations, you get a rod of gold or platinum. This rod will have to be heated again and then placed around a steel shaft to form a body for the ring.
A triboulet will then be used to check the diameter of the ring so that it does not exceed the circumference of the client’s finger. Following this check, the two ends of the ring will be placed opposite each other. The alliance is therefore over. The alliance thus obtained will be rolled and filed to erase any inequalities and give it a more harmonious appearance. At this point, you can dish out the inside of the wedding ring to make it more comfortable.
After you have done all of this, the personalization of the ring can begin. The outside of the ring can be chiseled to create patterns or polished according to the bride and groom’s choice. If you want your ring to be set, it can then be sent to the setter for this final step.
